This weekend I met up with Tanya, a friend of a friend who was also from Canada! So many people told me that I will feel more Canadian being here in Australia and they were right. It was so nice to meet up with another Canadian and talk about home. Just being able to say did you hear what happened in Calgary, and Toronto and Quebec, and have them know exactly was so nice. We did the beach walk from Bondi to Coogee, and while the beach wasn't full of sunbathers it was still fun!
I would recommend for anyone else going to do the walk to check the weather conditions, I was sweating in my jeans and t-shirt. Also to bring water and food, there is water fountains along the walk but the food is expensive to buy.

School Holidays- Week Five
We started this week off with some more shaving cream in the shower, the girls love it! We visited with school friends and cousins. We also got creative with clean mud and cloud dough, both of which made a huge mess. I wish I had taken pictures of it all. I will have to get better on the photo taking during my creative endeavours! The girls helped me make a trial birthday cake, which turned out pretty good. It tasted great which is the most important part!
(Not mine, I only wish mine turned out so great)

School Holidays- Week Four
The girls started their school holidays this week, so that means that I have all three of them at home with me. It has been busy to say the least, while the twins are helpful sometimes they are too helpful! We have spent our week making bird feeders, going to see a superhero show, having friends over to play, attending dancing, lunch date at mcdonalds, playing at the park, getting a library card, borrowing library books, painting rocks, making rice krispie treats and playing with shaving cream in shower. (as it turns out shaving cream as great cleaning qualities!)
My weekend was pretty busy as well. I had a wonderful FaceTime date with my family who woke me up at 7:30am on a saturday! I also had lunch with a new friend, then spent the afternoon reading in the sun. It was 23 degree which was awesome. On sunday I had a morning wakeup call to go into the city, finally a chance to go see Sydney. We walked around the market at the Rocks, saw some interesting things like kangaroo balls keychains, cockroach keychains, and alligator heads. I saw some great views of the Harbour too! We had morning tea at a little Irish tea shop, and I enjoyed some scones and a mocha.

Getting Into A Routine- Week Three
I am finally getting into my own routine which is great! I have split up all the cleaning into different days and it helps give me some more time throughout the week if I do a little bit each day. I am doing pretty good on the cooking but it's my baking that the kids love. I have yet to see a batch of cookies last longer than one day.
The girls and I are getting along quite well although my rules have taken some getting used to. They currently believe that I am in the movie Harry Potter and am part of the Weasley family. It's great fun! I did have some disciplining to do when I got called Malfoy cause I am so mean, and I must be in Slytherin. I had to try really hard not to laugh and replied "No I am in obviously in the Gryffindor house, don't be so rude".
It's quite fun to do morning activities, we have play group, gymnastics and dancing. After dancing on fridays we like to go to the mall and do a bit of shopping, eat Mcdonalds as a treat, and of course go for a ride!
It's been raining for about a week and a half now, its quite depressing and very cold! It makes my walks everywhere quite inconvenient. In fact as I walked home from dancing on friday, it poured like torrential downpour. I was soaked! Here is hoping for some better weather!

Settling In- Week Two
It has been quite busy settling in, learning the routine, and being with the family. I have fully adjusted to the time change. It has been hard to do everything on my own, last week I was in a handover from the last au pair and myself. We were able to split all the jobs and had someone to talk to all day. This week has been harder, the girls are getting to school just on time rather than early, and I am figuring out all the cleaning into a routine. Daily I do school drop off and pick up, lunch for myself and Trinity, nap time for Trinity, bit of a break for myself, make supper, make after school snack, clean out lunch boxes and make new lunches, serve dinner, clean up and shower time.
My week looks something like this:
MONDAY: Playgroup, clean bathrooms, laundry
TUESDAY: Clean upstairs (vacuum, mop), laundry
WEDNESDAY: Gymnastics, iron, dust, laundry
THURSDAY: After school park play, clean downstairs (vacuum, mop), laundry
FRIDAY: Dancing, iron, laundry
Also I saw my first real spider, it was super scary! Its also really neat to see all the wild birds here that are kept as pets at home, like cockatoos.
