Friends, Family and Keeping in Touch

It's easy to think that when we leave everything behind that we don't care, and when we don't write that we aren't thinking of you. It goes both ways. When we leave it's easy to think that those we left behind don't care.

It's easy to let time go by without realizing you haven't reached out in so long. To look up and notice that months have passed, and years have gone by. To be so immersed in our own lives that we forget to look up and acknowledge those who do not touch us on an everyday basis.

People grow up and sometimes we grow apart. It's hard to hold on when you are not sure what is left to old onto, and all there is, is memories of days past. It's hard to let go and realize that it's okay to move on. Friends come and go throughout your life, always for a reason.

Sometimes it's the growing up that causes us to grow apart, jobs and families taking up time, moving away, it makes it all a lot harder to keep together. Often we become closer with those who are around us all the time or are in the same circumstances as us. They say true friends are the life long ones who you can pick up with anytime and it's as if nothing has changed. It's not always true though. There will be people in your life who will always answer when you call or get back to you as soon as they can and some who do not make you a priority but still care. It's easier to care for those who respond than those who don't.

All it takes is a letter or a call even a quick message both ways to remind one another that we still care.
